Kelly Reider has more than 30 years of experience in public education as an ESL teacher, school/district administrator, and WIDA professional learning facilitator.
Throughout her career, she saw a common struggle—educators needed additional support for their students but lacked the training and resources. As a former teacher and administrator in the public school system, Kelly had a desire to support teachers and equip them with the latest teaching techniques and resources.

Kelly Reider has more than 30 years of experience in public education as an ESL teacher, school/district administrator, and WIDA professional learning facilitator.
Kelly saw that district leaders were overwhelmed by compliance requirements, content teachers weren’t sure how to integrate language development into their lessons, and English learners weren’t getting the support they needed to thrive.
She knew there had to be a better way and she knew her expertise could be used to help districts on a larger scale. She founded English Learner Portal to bridge the gap between research-based best practices and real-world classrooms. Her goal was to make English Language Development (ELD) clear, practical, and accessible for educators at every level.
English Learner Portal helps districts build stronger ELD programs through professional development, coaching, and additional resources. They empower teachers with easy-to-implement strategies, and ultimately ensure that English language learners get the education they deserve.
Over the past couple of years, our district has enrolled many teachers in Pathway courses and Praxis Coaching workshops—all of which have resulted in many gen ed teachers and administrators obtaining ESOL certification. English Learner Portal is bookmarked on my computer as a favorite.

Kelly and her team at English Learner Portal have been a Godsend!
Supervisor of World Languages & Multilingual Learners, St. Mary’s County Public Schools, Maryland
I have had the pleasure of working with their team for several years. I have consistently been impressed with their ability to integrate adult learning principles and research-based strategies that improve outcomes for English learners. They prioritize active participation, hands-on learning experiences, and reflection, all of which have been shown to be effective in adult learning.

They guide teachers towards working with multilingual learners. Kelly was flexible and responsive to our needs. EL Portal is connected to the top names in our field in terms of theory and practice in working with MLs. When we began working with them, we knew we would be getting the very best guidance and training.
